How to Brake on a Cruiser Bike: Tips and Techniques for Safe Riding
To brake on a cruiser bike, you typically use the hand brakes on the handlebars. Squeeze the brake lever with your fingers, and this will cause the brake pads to press against the wheel rims or disc rotors, slowing down or stopping the bike. On some cruiser bikes, there may also be a coaster brake (activated by pedaling backwards), but this should generally be used in conjunction with the hand brakes, rather than as a primary means of braking.
