How to Properly Jump on a Mountain Bike: A Beginner’s Guide
To jump on a mountain bike as a beginner, start by finding a small ramp or obstacle to practice on. Approach the obstacle with moderate speed and as you reach the top of the ramp, push down on the pedals and lift the front wheel off the ground by pulling back on the handlebars. As the rear wheel reaches the top of the ramp, push off with your feet and hop into the air. Keep your weight centered over the bike while in the air and use your knees to absorb the landing when you come back down. Practice makes perfect, so keep trying until you feel comfortable and confident with your jumps.
