How to Easily Remove the Pedal Arm from Your Mountain Bike
To remove the pedal arm on a mountain bike, first, ensure that the bike is stable on a maintenance stand or upside-down on a flat surface. Then, using a pedal wrench or an Allen wrench, loosen the axle bolt at the base of the pedal arm. Next, use a crank puller tool to remove the crank arm from the bottom bracket spindle. Slide the tool into the crank arm and use a wrench to unscrew the puller until the arm comes loose. Finally, slide the pedal off the crank arm and store it in a safe place.
