To do drops on a mountain bike, approach the drop-in with good speed, look ahead to the landing, and lean slightly back to keep your balance. As you near the edge of the drop, bring your handlebars up and in towards your chest. Once you are in the air, focus on your landing and prepare to absorb impact by bending your arms, legs and maintaining your balance. Practice on smaller drops before moving onto bigger ones to build your confidence.
